Only a week?I spend about a week on Digg every 2 months.And it would be more like "I spend a week on Digg every week and a half" if I didn't split the time with IMDb, Cracked, ThatGuyWithTheGlasses, TVTropes and YouTube. Yeah...I'm one of those famed internet addicts you hear about.

i don't know what you mean by multi-touch, but clearly the droid's touch interface is nowhere near as sophisticated or easy to use as the iPhone's. This is probably most evident in the map and web browser apps.The droid requires you to use zoom buttons and/or double tap, which means you can't control the zoom level fluidly or precisely.

The question is, when does 'security' go to far. If Microsoft, apple or the Linux community decided to impose harsh methods of locking down their OS just because it was more secure I don't think anyone would support their products. That or they would get groups of people looking for ways to liberate those OS's, exactly as we are are seeing with the iPhone OS right now. What most people don't understand is that the phone they are holding isn't a phone, it's a mobile computing platform that is under considerably tight contraints. I'm typing this on a jailbroken iPod touch 3g whilst downloading videos and listening to music. I'm using the device to it's full potential, and I think that's all people really want. They want the option to use the device they paid for however they like. It's up to the user if that use will be good or bad, just as it is with everything else in life. I'm sorry but their are plenty of ways to have mobile internet acces on a full laptop, yet those people aren't boxed into a closed system of corrupt bussiness (apples istore) and they aren't being told what they can and cannot do on their machine. |
