Not sure if anyone else has had experiences like this with the anti-vax crowd, but I've got a couple relatives who truly believe that vaccinations caused autism in 2 of their 3 children. (The third is still a bit too young to tell, but was not vaccinated, and is starting to show signs of autism anyway.) They'll scream that it was the vaccines that did that to their children because that's the only explanation they want to believe. It's hard to just say it, but it needs to be said: it wasn't the vaccines; it was your ***** genetics. *I'm absolutely not promoting eugenics*, but when two people are extremely likely to give birth to children that will never be able to function without lots and lots of assistance their entire lives, and keep having kids, it's extremely selfish on their part. But hey, blame the scientists and the doctors...

Conservatives only want less government when the government does something they don't like. When the government is waging two wars in the middle east to secure oil interests or wiretapping their citizens to 'defeat' terrorists conservatives are running around waving American flags and calling everyone else godless unpatriotic communist. When they quadruple the size of the government and dangerously deregulate the finical markets they don't even notice. But if a democrat wants to make sure that everyone can afford health care they scream bloody murder. American conservatives have so perverted the term in the past 30 years that it's a ***** joke.
