...the last time I seen a 74 year old clerk working at a grocery store....uhm never.Most of the times, the checkout clerks are 18-30 year old. Grocery stores try to avoid elderly people as clerks because they can't move very fast as it is. The objective for most grocery stores is to get people checked out as quickly as possible.Besides, if "Thelma" can't make out a disguised barcode, I'd hate to see how observant she is when it comes to customers trying to pull a fast one.
