The question is, when does 'security' go to far. If Microsoft, apple or the Linux community decided to impose harsh methods of locking down their OS just because it was more secure I don't think anyone would support their products. That or they would get groups of people looking for ways to liberate those OS's, exactly as we are are seeing with the iPhone OS right now. What most people don't understand is that the phone they are holding isn't a phone, it's a mobile computing platform that is under considerably tight contraints. I'm typing this on a jailbroken iPod touch 3g whilst downloading videos and listening to music. I'm using the device to it's full potential, and I think that's all people really want. They want the option to use the device they paid for however they like. It's up to the user if that use will be good or bad, just as it is with everything else in life. I'm sorry but their are plenty of ways to have mobile internet acces on a full laptop, yet those people aren't boxed into a closed system of corrupt bussiness (apples istore) and they aren't being told what they can and cannot do on their machine.

Major Flaw: People will only see the "dislike" status if they too have the Firefox plugin. Frankly, if you're at least tech savvy enough to have Firefox and use plugins and you've learned about this particular one through tech news sites, you're probably not one of the Facebook offenders.
Don't forget all of the gen ed classes that have nothing to do with algorithm efficencies (except math).

I am against this bill because it does too little. They sold out to the insurance companies and forced people to buy insurance or risk penalties. So the evil, death mongering, insurance companies just got a bill that guarantees them more customers? Call it socialism if you want, but the only answer in my book is to completely eliminate the insurance industry. Single payer system. No middle man. No one profiting off death.Look at how the stocks of insurance companies are doing after this announcement. They are laughing their asses off at our expense. Read Dennis Kucinich's (Dem) statement on why he voted No.?
