| You know, I'm extremely nearsighted. My contacts prescription is -9 in my right eye and -9.5 in my left eye. Apparently the contact lens manufacturers don't even bother with quarter steps at my strength.Yes it's a pain in the ass sometimes dealing with contacts and glasses. Being out at a bar and my eyes start drying out with contacts in just sucks, and falling asleep with contacts in is no fun either.But to be honest I sort of like being nearsighted because if I take off all corrective lenses and put things right up to my face I can see them bigger and in more detail. It's kind of like having a built-in magnifying glass. If I had good vision I would probably not want to become nearsighted just for this, but something tells me if I got corrective surgery I'd miss this ability. |

Ironically - they've been taking to the street for the last 8 years, but only the teabaggers get press about it. Conservatives are living in a bizarro world where they think the media is against or ignores them - the reality is just the opposite.
Unfortunately, as any of us in Greek organizations know, that's not true. If a girl has sex with a guy and later regrets it, having had even one beer, the guy is at fault and can be charged with rape. Regardless of whether it was completely consensual of the time, regardless of the situation, the man is at fault. The risk management seminar put on by the university for every fraternity details exactly that. Effectively, you really just have to hope that the girl doesn't decide at any point later in time to call rape. Or you can decide to never hook up with a girl that has been drinking at all. Which effectively means you can decide to never hook up with a girl.

“Democrat is the best we got unfortunately. Obama in reality acts as a moderate, I don't really see why Republicans are so afraid of him. America doesn't really have a liberal party. Libertarian is sort of socially liberal, but they're more conservitive than the Republicans when it comes to money. Republican is the conservative party, Democrat is the moderate party, and Green is rated as liberal but PETA people make me skeptical. Actually, you get that whenever you go from one OS to a completely different OS. Moving from XP to Windows 7 is not an upgrade. There is no upgrade path for it. Vista to Windows 7 is a painless upgrade as I can attest to. Moving from XP to Apple involves much more than simply loosing your data. It invloves losing access to most of the application you knew and loved when using XP. Most vendors still don't support the Apple OS and 99% of video game vendors still don't. Since games is one of the major uses people have for computers that is a huge deal. If all you do is browse the web and email then you would be better off with Linux since it is free and you don't have to buy a new computer to use it. If you do a lot more with your computer then jumping to OSX is not an option.!

None of these were very surprising. The most surprising place I found petroleum is seeping up into the parking lot of the La Brea Tar Pits. I found it interesting and was truly surprised to find it oozing out of the earth in downtown LA. |

Agreed. Bing is decent, but there's just not enough to make me want to switch. In fact one thing I vastly prefer to Google over Bing is that Google's home page is very simple, while Microsoft, in typical fashion, tries to make it glitzy by having photographs for it's background with hotspots in them, etc. Microsoft has clearly never heard of K.I.S.S. Granted in this day of broadband it doesn't cause much of an impact on most, but as far as I'm concerned it's just an unnecessary waste of bandwidth.I'll keep using Google as my primary search engine simply because it's still good enough as far as I'm concerned. If I don't like the results I get from Google I'll still do what I always do and try running searches on other search sites like ask.com, yahoo.com, etc. Only now I'll probably use Bing as well as another alternate. But there's just not enough reason to make them (or any others) my primary search engine.
