The amount of hours someone works is not equal to the amount they do. Most people "work" 40 hours but really waste most of their time drinking/making coffee, talking and generally being inefficient. Some of those "get in get out" people like myself can do the same work in much less time and should be paid equally for less hours but since no one knows people like this exist, the 40 hour week remains as is.
